Active Power appoints new CEO to lead the company in its next phase of growth

Active Power, the leading US producer of battery-free flywheel uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems for mission-critical applications, announces the appointment of Jack Pearce as CEO. He succeeds Charlotte Langley who has stepped down as CEO to take up a wider parent company director role and still remains a director of Active Power.

Under Charlotte Langley’s leadership, the company successfully navigated its way through the Covid-19 pandemic to ensure customers’ critical operations were supported, as well as reaching numerous strategic milestones in geographic market expansion and product development.

In 2020 Active Power launched its latest generation CLEANSOURCE® PLUS series of UPS and the 1.2MW POWERHOUSE UPS, a fully portable, ISO containerized plug and play, sustainable UPS solution for use wherever power is required.

From November 2019 Jack served as Chief Operating Officer of Active Power where he was responsible for all operations at the 135,000 sq. ft. engineering and manufacturing facility in Austin TX, as well as the North America service operation and international product support. His previous roles include General Manager of the firm’s manufacturing plant in Texas, and before that as a Project Manager for Piller Australia based out of Sydney. Jack has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Manchester.

Jack Pearce, CEO, Active Power, said:
