Dubai, UAE April 9, 2025 – Piller Power Systems drew strong attention at this year’s Middle East Energy Dubai, showcasing its GridGate microgrid technology designed to support the growing shift of data centres into remote, off-grid environments.
As hyperscale data centres move out of built-up urban areas in search of space, power stability becomes a critical challenge. Piller’s GridGate system addresses this by stabilising voltage and frequency, absorbing power variations and delivering clean, uninterrupted energy. This power conditioning technology ensures data centres can operate reliably, even in locations with limited or no grid infrastructure.
When coupled with Bergen’s 10MW-class Generator Sets – scalable up to 500MW – and variable renewable energy sources (VREs), Piller’s stabilisation technology enables large-scale data centres to operate entirely independently of the grid. This combination provides data centres with a resilient, high-performance alternative to grid dependency, delivering unmatched uptime and control in even the most remote environments.
The three-day exhibition attracted energy leaders and innovators from around the world, with strong interest in Piller’s solutions for mission-critical, independent power systems.
A key example of this is Piller’s state-of-the-art power conditioning system installed at the ALMA Observation Centre in Chile, where Piller’s advanced UNIBLOCK™ stabilisers work alongside gas engines to deliver exceptional power quality and reliability. This prestigious project supports the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), the world’s largest ground-based astronomical observatory, which studies the coldest regions of the Universe using 66 high-precision antennas.
Parent company Langley Holdings plc was present to support Piller, reflecting the Group’s wider commitment to next-generation power solutions for digital infrastructure.
