Piller, the global power protection leader, addressed an audience of over 800 data centre professionals across 11 time zones in a series of live interactive discussions.
The debate topic, the Future of Data Centre UPS Power at Scale, included insight and input from Piller experts around the world along with a leading design engineering consultant guest speaker.
The discussion covered the key challenges of designing and delivering sustainable power for the giant 100MW+ data centres being built by the world’s largest cloud providers.
The audience saw how the latest infrastructure and new approaches can meet cloud needs without sacrificing economic and electrical efficiency and reliability through the use of dynamic electrically coupled UPS technologies.
The use of medium voltage, the benefits of large MW and multiple MW single UPS modules for efficiency and reliability along with the importance of tackling the issues and operational requirements of a COVID and post pandemic world were explored in-depth and technical detail.
Hyperscale and large scale operator needs for Capex and Opex savings, ease of deployment and commissioning and low and no touch maintenance and remote management were also covered.
Individual webinars were delivered for regions across the main US time zones, the UK, Germany and Central Europe, Moscow, Middle East, India, Singapore and China, Australia and Japan.
Local market and regional issues were tackled by Piller regional managing directors based in the US, UK, Germany, India, Singapore and Australia. Guest speaker Robert Thorogood of design consultants Hurley Palmer Flatt also presented.
