New Scale

The next generation of data centres represent a step change in power capacity scale from 30MWs-300MWs of power at a single site.

Such data centres cannot solely rely on traditional grid power. Instead using alternative power technologies data centres will generate their own power, supplied across microgrids with advanced UPS, conditioning and stabilisation technologies capable of seamlessly transitioning between power sources, and ensuring uninterrupted operations.

There will be a growing need for microgrid implementations to ensure constant stable power provision by managing renewable sources and employing Hydrogen ready combustion engines – such as those from Bergen Engines, paired with Marelli Motori alternators. These engines start swiftly and maintain high efficiency even at part-load, minimising emissions and fuel consumption.
